Freedom of Information
NHSBSA Pensions Division - Freedom of Information Publication Scheme
Welcome to the NHS Pensions (formerly the NHS Pensions Agency*) Publication Scheme. The aim of the Publication Scheme is to explain what information NHS Pensions makes available to the public and, wherever possible, provide an easy method of accessing this information. The Scheme has been developed to ensure it meets the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The Act requires every public authority to specify what information they publish (in terms of information 'classes'), how the information is made available, and whether it is available free of charge or upon payment.
* The NHS Pensions Agency ceased to exist from close of business on 31 March 2006 and is now a division of a new organisation, the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA). However, NHS Pensions data will continue to be held on the existing systems in the same locations.
The NHSBSA became the new Data Controller from 1 April 2006 and any requests under the Freedom of Information Act should be directed to:

Complaints about our Scheme
If you believe we are not complying with our obligations set out in the publication scheme complaints should be directed to SNewman@nhspa.gov.uk
Freedom of Information Act 2000
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 received Royal Assent on 30 November 2000. When fully implemented, the Act will supersede the current Code of Practice on Access to Government Information 1997 (the Code of Practice).
Classes of Information
The Freedom of Information Act requires all public bodies with a publication scheme to specify the classes of information that it publishes. It is the intention of NHS Pensions to publish as much information as possible on subjects in which there is known to be public interest.
